Alright guys, time for the second half of the first Dana Point project. The upper, 3rd floor is solely dedicated to the “master suite”, complete with two sliders to a private patio off the back and one glass lite door to the front balcony. As for the rest of it, well I’ll let you see for yourself– so go ahead and get to scrolling!
Again, these floors… <3 <3
View from the sleeping zone to retreat and open master bath:
Due to structural confinements, we couldn’t do a traditional medicine cabinet on the side of the vanity, nor recess them into the back wall. The bathroom really needed more storage for smaller items– as you can see we went with full height doors on the floating vanity, sans drawers. These Kohler surface mount medicine cabinets were a perfect solution and in the dramatic dimensions give the smaller space some pow!
Get ready for some shower close-ups and an eyeful of marble!
I can see this retreat being used as a little exercise room, office or reading nook as it stands now. But for brave new parents – it’d be perfect for a temporary nursery, especially since all of the secondary bedrooms are two floors down in this plan.
I don’t think I could ever leave this closet on time. I can’t take all the credit here either- mad props to Sean of TWG for taking something simple at first and turning it into the luxurious wardrobe vault it is now:
Finally, for any of my architectural nerds, I got a few shots of the stairs and entry which make quite a statement on the main floor and throughout the home. We went with a bold, black horizontal railing, semi-custom floating stairs in white oak, paired with a simple, black LED halo chandelier:
So that wraps up Dana Point #1! I can’t wait until #2 is finished! But have no fear, there will be a couple more projects in-between now and then that will inevitably become victims of my rookie photography, and you’ll get to see alllll the carnage 😉
